Falsified Election Results?

On January 9, 2019, the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed a new president.  However was the winner the one who the people thought would be their leader?  Not in the slightest.   The winner, President Felix Tshisekedi was not the front runner in this election especially when in comparison to Martin Fayulu who was running against Felix and who was in favor to win the election. According to the New York Times "Mr. Tshisekedi had not been seen as the top vote-getter; he was declared the victor on Thursday amid speculation that his campaign had reached some kind of a power-sharing agreement with the Kabila government." And according to BBC News, "No-one could have imagined such a scenario whereby an opposition candidate would emerge victorious."  Does any of this sound familiar in the slightest? Or perhaps am I just trying to reach a comparison to try and make this more political than it already is?

Attack On Villagers in Mali

On Sunday, March 24, there was an attack on a village in Mali.  There's was a group of armed men that were "dressed as traditional hunters"  that went and killed 134 people.  In addition to the 134 people killed, there was another 55 people who were hurt in Ogossogou.  " The Malian government said it 'reiterates its determination to make every effort to hunt down the perpetrators of this barbarity of another age and to punish them, in accordance with the laws in force... Fleeing Violence

I am gonna attempt to parallel escaping Violence in Nigeria and seeking refuge to what has been happening here in the USA. It might be a bit of a stretch or even a total fail but bear with me for a moment. "Escalating attacks by Boko Haram militants have forced 30,000 people out of Nigeria's northeast into Cameroonian borders over the weekend, the UN Refugee agency said on Tuesday. Thousands have also fled to neighboring Cameroon and Chad in recent weeks, the agency said. Hostilities have strained humanitarian operations and forced aid workers to pull out from some locations, and the destruction of livelihoods and infrastructure is widespread, UNHCR spokesperson Babar Baloch said at a press briefing in Geneva.
